Project Overview
An artistic live session film capturing Musical Fruit performing 'Feel Free' at The HopBarn, Southwell. Produced by Electric Bear on behalf of the AMPLIFY programme, funded by Arts Council England, the session was created to support original music and emerging artists across Nottinghamshire. The brief was to present the performance as a piece of visual craft in its own right, rather than a straightforward performance capture.
Cinematography & Techniques
Shot on a two-camera setup, combining wide framing that places the band within the character of the venue with closer, more intimate coverage of individual performances. Camera movement and composition were used deliberately to build atmosphere and match the dynamics of the track, with The HopBarn's natural texture and lighting shaping the overall look of the session.
Visual Storytelling
The edit is cut to the rhythm and build of the performance, moving between wide and close coverage to reflect the energy of the track as it develops. Pacing was shaped to keep the focus on the band and their delivery, allowing the performance to lead while the visual language supports it. Audio was recorded, mixed and mastered to studio standard by Electric Bear, ensuring the session sounds as considered as it looks.
The Final Result
A polished live session film that presents Musical Fruit's performance with a distinct visual identity, delivered as part of the AMPLIFY programme. The finished piece works as both an artist asset and a showcase of what a properly produced live session can be - professionally shot, professionally recorded, and released to a standard that stands up alongside commercial music content.
